It came and gone - my birthday yesterday. Finally turned 23 and it wasn't really a big deal because it felt older. Like after everything and working and schooling and whatever else that has happened in my life, only 23 ah?
Didn't feel very special, probably because it's my stupid OTB exam today and WPL exam on Friday so I spent the day studying. Only went out to Tampines for lunch with Vani at Sakae Sushi because my mum gave us her voucher and went to do Xmas shopping for the kids (not mine) and bought Amriq an Xmas present which I shall not state what it is cos he spies on me!
I spent the $200 I got for my birthday. My parents (+ Vani) were very sweet though. Amriq met me downstairs on 9th Dec at 11.45pm and he wanted to be with me till it was 12am and I was complaining to him that everyone went to sleep and no one at home bothered it was my birthday. I was already feeling down that I couldn't celebrate due to my exam and this made it worst.
After 12am he sent me to my door and the lights were all off and I said perhaps my mum thought I was at home and closed up everything. He opened the door for me and they were lighting my cake and screamed Surprise!!
Boy was I surprised!!!
Apparently Vani came up with the surprise and luckily I told her I was going downstairs to meet Amriq then she msged him and told him to bring me up. I don't know why I told her I was meeting him since they were all "asleep" and it was lucky that I did. She would have been heart-broken if she came out with the cake and found me not at home.
She also gave me a game set - Game of Life. It's pretty fun and we played it twice and stopped after I won. hehe.
Amriq came yesterday as well and he has something special planned for me on 14th after my exam. I am VERY excited!! On 15th, family is having a BBQ to celebrate my bday with my aunt & cousin - both their birthdays are on 12th Dec.
Can't wait.
This year has been a blessed year. It didn't start of right and Amriq and I had loads of quarrels but I appreciate him and my family more than ever and it is such a peaceful feeling to know that my family has finally accepted him as part of my life and I know they know we are definitely getting married although they won't say it yet.
I hope next year will be a better year and I'm damn sure it will be.
I shall conclude this post by saying :-
I might not be cash rich but I am definitely rich in all other ways and that is something we should never take for granted.
